A trucker reported missing by his family after ditching his big rig and allegedly heading to New York was found in New Jersey over the weekend.

24-year-old trucker Austin Jones first went missing on June 24th, and was reported missing on July 9th, four days after his rig was found abandoned at a truck stop in Dixon, Illinois with all his belongings inside.

As the family searched for their missing loved one, they caught word that he had last been seen hitching a ride with an unaware Illinois State Trooper who notified the family that Jones said he was heading up to New York, which prompted the family to offer a $25,000 reward to anyone with information regarding Jones’ whereabouts.

Then, according to Lex 18 News, on July 14th Jones’ Aunt, Shannon Downs, notified authorities that he had been found.

“A policeman stopped him walking and took him to the hospital last night in New Jersey!” she wrote in an email.

“He is severely dehydrated and he took him to the hospital. We are waiting for more information as to when we can go see or pick him up.”

Jones is an employee of CR England and was hauling a load for work when he abandoned the tractor trailer and disappeared.

No further information regarding Jones’ experience, including the exact location where he was found, has been released.
