The trucker missing since the end of June is thought to be heading to New York after hitching a ride with an Illinois State Trooper.

24-year-old truck driver Austin Jones was last seen by his family on June 26th, but it wasn’t until July 5th, when Jones’ truck was found abandoned at a Dixon, Illinois truck stop with all his belongings inside that his family began to think something strange was going on.

According to KWQC News, the family waited until July 9th to report Jones missing, and that’s when police began the investigation.
