An attentive trucker narrowly avoided an oblivious pedestrian who stepped in front of his rig in a dash cam video posted online yesterday.
“Woman gets out of cab into the middle of the street, right as the light turns green,” describes Okan Elkin, the driver who captured the video.
The video begins with a truck sitting at a stop light with a black taxi van to its left. The pair waits through an entire stoplight.
Just as the light turns green, the door van opens and a woman steps out into the road without looking.
The woman takes a few steps in front of the adjacent big rig, and the trucker taps his brakes to avoid hitting her.
The woman then wanders to the crosswalk and out of the roadway.
Thankfully the truck driver was paying attention and was able to react quickly, preventing a possible tragedy.
“The lady [was] not even looking… wow.. just wow,” commented one Youtube viewer.
