First responders were on scene for several hours to fight a semi truck fire that shut down I-70 in Missouri on Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 3 a.m. on June 17, the West Central Fire District (WCFD) out of Sweet Springs, Missouri, responded to a semi truck on fire on I-70.
When crews arrived, the truck was fully engulfed in flames.
No injuries were reported.
“We had both stations help during this incident! When crews arrived on scene we immediately began to put the fire out. However, with very flammable material inside the trailer it was a challenge!” WCFD said.
Firefighters were on scene for seven hours, during which time I-70 was shut down to allow crews better access to the burning big rig.
The truck fire is under investigation.
