A crash involving a semi truck and an RV trailer occurred during a windstorm in Wendover, Utah, over the weekend.
At 5:40 p.m. on October 11, 2025, the Wendover Fire Department (WFD) responded to a crash on I-80 at mile marker 2.
Firefighters said that a truck towing an RV trailer was eastbound on I-80 when “powerful gusts caused the RV trailer to overturn, snapping the ball hitch that connected it to the towing vehicle.”
“The trailer then collided with a semi trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the highway. Upon impact, the RV trailer was completely destroyed,” WFD said.
Firefighters said that the driver of the truck and the occupants of the parked semi were unharmed.
The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
“The Wendover Fire Department are reminding drivers to use extreme caution during high wind conditions, especially when towing large or lightweight trailers,” the agency said.
