Earlier today we reported about a truck driver who collapsed in Pilot truck stop off Interstate 465 in Indianapolis, after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
According to a recent update by 6-ABC, the driver has told investigators that he was shot three times by a prostitute he picked up. He also mentioned his wallet was missing.
Police say the man initially honked for help at the fuel pumps, then stumbled into the store and told a security guard he was shot by a “lot lizard”. The guard then alerted a cashier who immediately called 911.
The driver, who’s name has not been released, is in critical condition at Eskenazi Hospital.
In addition, a witness told authorities that she saw a woman exit his truck in the parking lot and flee the scene on foot.
Police are unsure if the driver picked up the prostitute at the Pilot station, or another location. Pilot says they are cooperating with the police investigation.
