Parts of Texas got blasted with unusually cold weather, causing snow, sleet, and ice to cover roadways and lead to treacherous driving conditions on Tuesday. One resident captured an example of the slippery conditions in a now-viral video, showing a big rig sliding backwards on an icy road.
The footage was taken in Longview, Texas, around noon, by Longview-resident Kristy Boyd, who was standing near an icy hill.
In the clip a flatbed tractor trailer is seen trying to make it up the hill, but is unable to get to the top.
Eventually the truck beings to roll backwards down the hill.
The truck eventually comes to a stop after hitting — and knocking down — a traffic light at the intersection.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
The clip was posted to Facebook shortly after it took place and has since been shared nearly 50,000 times. Watch it below.
