A green cab driver, who had been driving for two weeks, plowed into a Daily News delivery truck early Sunday morning.
Driver Jonathan Long was on his route in Brooklyn, when made a right turn at a traffic light that was changing from yellow to red.
The cab driver, 26-year-old Tazul Islam, claims that the delivery truck driver passed a red light and was at fault in the accident:
“I was going home, I’m at the end of my shift, and he’s coming down the street and passed a red light. He had a red light,”
Witnesses, however, tell a different story. Jacob Grunblat was parked down the street and caught the entire even on his dash cam. He told reporters:
“He’s going through the intersection, he’s almost past it when he gets hit. The cab definitely ran the red (light).”
Islam has not been charged with anything, but police are reviewing the footage to determine who was at fault.
