Nebraska police responded to an incident this week that left a semi truck’s trailer loaded with candy product fully engulfed in flames.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on April 7, 2026, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to mile marker 166 on I-80 in Lincoln County, Nebraska, for a reported vehicle on fire.
When LCSO arrived on the scene, they found the semi trailer fully engulfed in flames.
Police say that the driver had been able to remove the truck from the trailer before the fire was out of control.
No injuries were reported.
“The semi was loaded with gummy bears with no hazmat danger,” LCSO said.
Crews from the Hershey and Sutherland Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene to extinguish the trailer fire as well as a grass fire.
