A Chicago council member wants to boot semi trucks parked in the 39th Ward and is asking for the public’s help to locate them.
Alderman Margaret Laurino posted the message on Facebook in February, asking residents to report trucks parked for an “extended period of time.” She also includes a photo of a truck that was booted and an email address to report other parked trucks.

Shortly after making the announcement, Laurino’s spokesperson, Manuel Galvan, followed up with an explanation of his own.
“It wouldn’t be illegal if they were just loading and unloading, but they appear to be parking there on Fridays and just leaving them there until Monday. There are safety issues when you’re cutting off visibility into the park, plus it’s just unsightly,” he said.
