A truck driver was robbed by two armed men on Interstate 95 in Maine on Tuesday.

The robbery occurred around 6:20 p.m. on August 21st in Howland, Maine.

According to Press Herald News, the Poland Spring water truck driver was travelling on I-95 hauling water from the Poland Spring plant in Lincoln when two motorists inside a red sedan fired a gun at his rig as they passed him on the highway. The truck driver then pulled over, and that’s when the situation escalated.

“The truck and the car both stopped and the truck driver was pulled out of the truck and money was stolen from him,” said Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland.

“The two men from the car reportedly then left the scene traveling south.”

Luckily, the trucker was not injured in the robbery.

“State police believe that this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public,” McCausland added.

The suspect’s car is described as a red sedan with a light gray color on the driver’s side door. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the Maine State Police in Bangor at (207) 973-3700.

*UPDATE: As of Friday, August 24th, police have begun to suspect that the incident did not occur as described by the trucker. Officers did not disclose any details regarding this suspicion, but they do say that shots were fired, just not in the was the trucker described, reported AP News.*
