A sedan was pushed along Interstate 55 in Missouri by an unknowing truck driver for nearly half a mile on Monday, while a nearby motorist caught it all on his cell phone.

The incident happened at approximately 10 a.m. on November 13th just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.

According to KMOV St. Louis, Sanel Pilipovic was traveling home from Chicago on Interstate 55 when he noticed smoke and dust coming from the front of a nearby tractor trailer, and that’s when he saw the trapped car.

The sedan was turned sideways and pinned to the front of the moving semi as it pushed the car forward, sending smoke and small pieces of car spraying into the roadway.

“All four tires were flat; the car was messed up from every side. I mean everything was totaled,” Pilipovic explained.

“This was really serious. He did not stop for at least half a mile,” continued Pilipovic.

The trapped sedan eventually ripped away from the moving semi as the tractor trailer took the exit ramp at Arsenal, where the rig continued driving for several yards before realizing that something was wrong.

“I kind of pulled over, right away, to make sure he was okay. That was my main concern to make sure the guy in the car was okay. Then I started yelling at the guy to get out of the car. I thought the car was going to catch fire,” Pilipovic said.

“He looked scared. I knew he was scared and stuff because of what happened. I know he did not know what was going on. I am sure he was lost… The truck driver said he had no idea the car was pinned by his truck,” explained Pilipovic.

Emergency crews eventually arrived on scene to help the motorist, who was not seriously injured in the incident.

The names of the motorist and truck driver have not been released, and the motorist declined to comment on the situation.
