A female trucker was awarded a refurbished 349 Peterbilt after referring drivers to her company earlier this week.

Michelle Lane has been working for 1845 Oil Services since May 2017, during which time she has referred multiple drivers to 1845, qualifying her for the company’s newly established raffle, which awards a semi truck to one lucky 1845 employee.

According to The Weatherford Democrat, this year for 1845’s first raffle, a 349 Peterbilt was refurbished and presented to Lane, who was one of 25 drivers included in the drawing.

“I refer a lot of people, but I guess somebody actually got hired off my referral… I just can’t believe that they gave me something so nice. Usually there’s a catch, but there’s not and it’s going to change my life. I’m just in shock… When they called me I said, ‘You’re lying?’ I didn’t believe them. I saw that they were giving away a truck, but I didn’t think I was going to win so I didn’t even look at it.”

“Drivers are integral to the success of every transportation company. At 1845, our drivers come from a variety of backgrounds from recent veterans to individuals who have chosen trucking as a life-long career… We at 1845 recognize the hard work and commitment it takes to be a driver in the oil field and want to deliver not only an experience that will allow a person to provide for their family, but we also feel a responsibility to differentiate the experience working at 1845,” said 1845 President and COO Robbie Ballard.

“We are currently in the process of adding names to the list for the second truck giveaway, which will occur in the spring of 2019,” Ballard said.

“As news of the first giveaway is circulated, we expect even more entries in the 2019 drawing.”
