A town in Virginia managed to fill six tractor trailers with hurricane relief supplies for North Carolina over the weekend.

Virginia Beach, Virginia radio station US106.1 and Atlantic Heating and Cooling organized a supply drive at the Market Square Shopping Center on Virginia Beach Boulevard on Saturday, September 15th that stretched into Monday evening as citizens donated water, canned goods, hygiene products, and other essentials often overlooked in the wake of a natural disaster.

“We were so lucky that we did not get this and I want to make sure that we all show that, step up and do our part,” said Jeanette Robinson, who donated two boxes of diapers, reported 10 Wavy News.

The six semi trucks, five hauling non-perishables and a sixth hauling toys, clothes, and other donations, made their deliveries to the Food Bank of Central and Northeastern North Carolina on Tuesday morning, September 18th.
