A truck driver is in good condition after his semi truck ended up hanging off the side of a bridge in Florida on Monday.
The accident happened on August 27th at around 1:00 p.m. in Sumter County, Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that the tractor trailer was hauling compost material from Tampa on northbound Interstate 75 near mile marker 307 when he suddenly lost control while crossing a bridge, causing the big rig to crash through the concrete guardrail and plunge into the river. The cab of the truck was left partially submerged while the back end of the truck remained on the bridge, propped up by the remaining guardrail.

The unnamed truck driver was rescued by an airboat team and luckily sustained only minor injuries, reported My News 13.
The composting materials were strewn across the road in the wreck, backing up traffic along I-75 north for several miles as crews worked to remove the semi truck from the river and clear the mess from the highway.
Traffic cleared at around 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening but the incident is still under investigation and the exact reason for the crash is still not known. It is not clear if the unidentified truck driver was issued a citation following the incident.
