A semi truck carrying storage containers wrecked in California on Wednesday, leaving the truck balancing on top of a raised median.
The accident happened in Santa Barbara, California at around 5:00 a.m. on Highway 101 north of the Garden Street off-ramp.
According to NoozHawk Santa Barbara, the truck was traveling along Highway 101 when, for reasons that have not yet been made clear, the big rig lost control, crashing into the median and landing perched on top of the median’s foliage, rupturing the fuel tank and spilling approximately 75 gallons of diesel fuel.
California Highway Patrol reports that no injuries were sustained in the incident, but the right lane of Highway 101 had to be shut down between Milpas and Garden Streets as crews worked to remove the semi truck and its Pod Storage containers, as well as clean up the diesel fuel.
It is not known whether the truck driver was issued a citation for the incident.
