A truck driver found running around naked after fleeing the scene of an accident has been taken into custody, police say.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, May 22nd in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, 32-year-old truck driver Elbert Kennon was involved in a wreck with a motorist at the intersection of 51st Street and Harvard but quickly fled the scene. Police say Kennon “sped off,” traveling the wrong direction on Skelly Drive before stopping the truck at the 8800 block of South Riverside Drive, where he exited the big rig and ran into a nearby mobile home park.

Police eventually caught up to Kennon, finding him completely naked in a drainage ditch and acting so erratic that officers were forced to sedate him before they were able to place him under arrest, reported News 9.

“It took an extended period of time to take him into custody,” said Tulsa Police Department Sergeant Kurt Dodd.

“He was definitely not willing to go with the police.”

Several officers suffered minor injuries in the incident but are expected to make a full recovery.

“It was probably PCP,” Dodd continued.

“A lot of times they will take their clothes off. He probably took his clothes off right there in the trailer park or as he was running through, down into the ravine to get away from police.”

Kennon was then taken to a nearby hospital so he can recover but will be booked into the Tulsa County Jail upon his release. The exact charges against Kennon have not been made clear.
