Police say that a woman killed while riding her bicycle may have been drunk when she collided with the tractor trailer.
The accident happened on Thursday morning, September 13th in Tittabawassee Township, Michigan.
According to ABC 12 News, 38-year-old April Kade was riding her bike north on Tittabawassee Road when she ran a red light and collided head on with a semi truck traveling south, killing her on scene.
Police say that a second bicyclist riding with Kade had stopped at the red light appropriately and was not injured.
The trucker had the right of way and so was not cited for the incident. The crash is still under investigation but police say they believe alcohol may have been a factor in Kade’s running of the red light and the subsequent crash.
