A woman has been charged with a misdemeanor after stepping out in front of a semi truck that couldn’t stop.
The accident occurred at around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1st outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the truck driver told officers he was driving west on Campbellton Road near Butner Road when he saw a woman step out into his lane up ahead. The unidentified driver then tried to swerve to avoid hitting her but was unable to, laying her out on the ground.

When emergency personnel arrived, the woman was awake, coherent, and seemed to be in stable condition. She was then transported to a nearby hospital where she is expected to make a full recovery.
One lane of Campbellton Road was shut down for around an hour as officials worked to clear the area.
The truck driver was not injured or cited in the incident, but the unnamed woman has been cited with pedestrian in the roadway, a misdemeanor.
