
One man is dead after pulling out in front of an oncoming semi truck in Indiana on Sunday.
The accident happened on May 6th at approximately 6:40 p.m. in Lynnville, Indiana.
According to the Dubois County Herald, a white pickup truck was parked on the emergency shoulder of Interstate 64 near the 32.5 mile marker for unknown reasons when it suddenly pulled back out onto the highway in front of an oncoming semi truck. The 2017 Freightliner big rig then struck the back end of the pickup, sending the pickup and the big rig crashing into a guardrail.
The truck driver, 48-year-old Ricky J. Isham, was not hurt in the incident but the motorist, 55-year-old Patrick McNeely, was ejected from his pickup upon impact and was pronounced dead on scene.
The roadway was closed for around four and a half hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the incident. The roadway has since been cleared but the investigation is still underway.
