Lego has taken a stab at the iconic toy truck with it’s new and massive Mack Anthem semi truck build kit.

The enormous building kit is a part of Lego’s “Lego Technic” line and was released around the same time as the launch of the actual Anthem semi truck back in the fall, Mack’s first semi truck redesign since 2005.

Before it’s creation, Lego designers visited Mack’s headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, spending time behind the wheel of a real Mack Anthem truck in order to get better acquainted. The result is a stunning, 2,595-piece Lego Mack Anthem semi truck, complete with a functioning hood, six moving pistons, a functional steering wheel and trailer hitch, and even a gold bulldog hood ornament. The interior of the cab is also equally detailed with a realistic dashboard, adjustable seats and a bunk bed in the sleeper.

To top it off, once the Anthem is built, the set can be torn apart and rebuilt into a Mack LR garbage truck with the same pieces. Once built, the garbage truck also features some moving parts, including a rear hatch and forward trash door that actually works, as well as a fully functional lifting fork.

The $179.99 kit is suggested for ages 11 to 16, but the set is so intricate, extensive, and fun, that it seems just about anyone could enjoy building their own Mack trucks.
