A man led police on a chase spanning two cities after stealing a coca cola truck parked at a gas station on Thursday.
The incident occurred on April 26th at approximately 8:00 a.m. in Forrest County, Mississippi.
According to The Sun Herald, the chase began after police received a call from a trucker reporting that his tractor trailer had been stolen out of the parking lot of a gas station at 901 Broadway Drive while he was inside the store, admitting he had left the keys inside the rig.
The stolen coca cola truck was then spotted on Highway 49 and officers attempted to bring it to a stop, but the driver kept going, weaving through traffic and passing through two cities before it entered the Evelyn Gandy Parkway. Eventually, the truck ran off the road and into a median and the suspect tried to flee. Luckily, police were able to apprehend him, bringing the police pursuit to a close.
The truck thief, 32-year-old Chad Kendrick, was then taken into custody. He is currently facing charges of grand larceny auto, eluding law officers, and driving recklessly.
