A woman leapt from her car to escape an out of control semi truck in a video captured by a motorist during one of the many snowy pileups that plagued the Midwest this week.

The video was filmed on Sunday, February 4th on Interstate 44 in Conway, Missouri.

According to KY3 News, a massive pile up crash occurred near the 107 exit on I-44, involving multiple cars and semi trucks, and creating a tangled mess of spun out cars along the roadway.

In the clip captured by motorist Curtis Jones, a white sedan can be seen spun out into the back of a tractor trailer when suddenly, a second tractor trailer slides into frame, heading straight towards the wrecked car.

The motorist inside the sedan then flings open the door, leaps from the car and falls into the snow, barely making it out in time before the semi truck strikes the line of stopped vehicles.

“I had just texted my boyfriend, and then I look up, and this semi is coming straight at my driver’s side door,” said Caroline Gardner, driver of the white sedan.

“I thought, ‘I am going to die,’… It was the scariest thing I had ever seen in my entire life,” Gardner continued.

“I see comments [on the video] like ‘she should not have gotten out of the car,’ but, he was coming straight at me and when I got out of the car he swerved,” she added.

Gardner then jumped into Jones’ car with only a few bumps and bruises, and stayed until emergency crews arrived.

“She was shaken up. She was panicked too and just shook up from it, and I don’t blame her. Heck, it was pretty intense…I’m very happy about all of us being safe,” Jones said.
