A truck driver and woman have been charged with possession of meth after crashing their truck in Wisconsin earlier this year.

The incident happened at around 4:57 a.m. on April 12th in La Prarie, Wisconsin, but a hearing regarding the incident was not held until Monday, August 6th.

According to Gazette Extra News, 40-year-old truck driver Steven R. Harris was driving along Interstate 90/39 near mile marker 180 with his passenger, 36-year-old Millie J. Thompson resting in the sleeper when, for reasons that are not quite clear, he crashed the semi truck, waking Thompson and prompting a police response.

When officers arrived, they discovered “several ounces of a white, crystal powder” and “needles, pipes and unknown liquids” inside the big rig’s cab and Thompson explained that she had injected meth and heroin and had gone in the sleeper to rest when the crash woke her up. She also told officers that Harris often used meth to stay awake on long hauls.

Thompson failed to appear for her court hearing on Monday and now has a warrant out for her arrest.

Officials have still not scheduled a hearing for Harris.
