
The cab of a semi truck caught fire and burned to the ground Tuesday afternoon, destroying the truck and the bales of hay it was carrying.
The incident happened on July 17th at around 4:30 p.m. near Martin, South Dakota.
According to KELO Land News, the truck was hauling the hay along Highway 18 when it suddenly caught fire.
The reason for the fire has not been released, but the tractor, trailer, and all bales of hay were completely destroyed in the blaze.
Luckily, the unnamed driver was able to escape the burning rig without injuries and no one else was injured in the incident.
Highway 18 was shut down for several hours as crews worked to extinguish the flames and clear the destroyed rig from the roadway.
The area was cleared, and the highway reopened at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
