A Tesla electric semi truck appears to have broken down while making a test run across the Midwest.
The truck was spotted pulled over to the side of the road with a crew of people milling around the outside on Thursday, March 16th on westbound Interstate 44 near mile marker 84.5 in Missouri.
It is not clear for how long the Tesla semi truck stayed parked on the side of the road, but one passerby posted to the Facebook Group Truckers Wall of Shame claiming that the Tesla rig was suffering from a broken hose clamp, and had been sitting on the shoulder for hours.
“It had a broken hose clamp, so they’ve been stuck on the side of the road for 2 hours,” he said.
Despite the overall appearance of the situation, Electrek has reported that Tesla claims the electric semi truck was not “broken down,” but was simply stopped in order to run some tests and make some adjustments.
The Tesla semi stopped in Missouri is currently one of two Tesla semi trucks travelling across the US as part of the prototype test program.
