A young boy was rescued from a burning pickup truck after colliding with a semi truck on a rural road in North Dakota on Wednesday.
The accident happened on September 12th at around 8:00 a.m. in Casselton, North Dakota.
According to InForum News, the 15-year-old boy collided with the semi truck at the intersection of 33rd Street and 156th Avenue Southeast for reasons that are not clear, sending both the big rig and the pickup into a roadside ditch and up in flames, pinning the pickup beneath the trailer and trapping the young boy inside.
Another truck driver noticed the smoke from the wreck from a mile away and followed it, leading him to the burning wreckage where he heard the young boy screaming for help, yelling about the flames scorching his arms.
The second truck driver then pulled out a fire extinguisher and put out the flames before pulling the boy from the cab of the charred pickup.
The boy and 73-year-old semi truck driver were then transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. Their current conditions have not been released but they are expected to make a full recovery.
Firefighters spent the next 30 minutes putting out the flames.
The incident is still under investigation and no one has been cited. There were no stop signs at the intersection and police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
The truck driver who rescued the boy did not wish to be identified.
