30 cows wreaked havoc in a neighborhood in Kentucky over the weekend after a semi truck hauling cattle was struck by a turning motorist, freeing several of the animals.
The wreck happened on Sunday, August 26th in McCraken County, Kentucky.
According to WPSD Local 6, 43-year-old motorist Tiffany Minnis was trying to turn left on westbound Highway 62 at Kimbrel Drive when she struck an oncoming semi truck driven by 43-year-old trucker Mark Raymond, overturning the truck, killing two cows, and seriously damaging the passenger car.
The trucker was not hurt, but Minnis and her juvenile passenger were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fifty one steers were inside the trailer at the time of the wreck, 30 of which escaped and began roaming the nearby neighborhood. 18 were still unaccounted for as of 6:20 a.m. on Monday morning, reported WLOX News.
“There were about 15 in my neighbors backyard and [they] broke down part of their fence,” said resident Angelica Winscom.
“Luckily these people are safe and to our knowledge no one has got hurt…minus the cows. A few of them did,” Winscom continued.
“I thought I was crazy not going to lie… cows are not a normal thing in the neighborhood. I was on the phone I said let me call you back there is a herd of cows in my yard.”
