A truck driver was found with $2 million worth of drugs at a rest stop in New Jersey earlier this week.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening, May 1st in Mercer County, New Jersey.

According to NJ News, for undisclosed reasons, the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force chose to inspect a semi truck parked at a rest stop along the New Jersey Turnpike using a K9 trained to sniff our narcotics. The dog, named Bela, alerted to the scent of drugs, causing the detectives to become “suspicious of the [truck] driver’s nervous demeanor.”

The officers then entered the big rig and discovered 28.6 pounds of cocaine and 8.8 pounds of heroin hidden in the sleeper berth of the trailer. Officials estimate the seized cocaine is valued at around $1.3 million and the heroin at $800,000.

The truck driver, 44 year old Frank Rosario of Kissimmee, Florida, was then arrested and has since been charged with multiple narcotic-related offenses which have not yet been specified.
