A fleet of 10 trucks had their windshields shot out with a pellet gun in New York recently as part of a crime spree that has left several car dealerships and trucking companies in the area with multiple damaged vehicles.

The vandalism with pellet guns began around two weeks ago in Henrietta, New York, the most recent – a shooting up of Regional International, a semi truck sales company on Tuesday, May 29th.

According to Jim Carello, owner of Regional International, the trucks were parked in his lot facing the ramp from Lehigh Station Road to 390 south, allowing for the person or group of people to fire their high-powered pellet gun at his big rigs, damaging the windshields.

This incident comes just after a similar situation at Garber Honda on West Henrietta Road, where several cars were damaged by a pellet gun, prompting the manager to offer a $5,000 reward to the person who catches the criminal or criminals.

Luckily, Regional International was able to record security footage that may have captured the incident, but police are still reviewing the 48 hours of tape and there is not word yet on if the film has revealed anything, reported WHEC News.

“At this time we’re still going through it. We haven’t had a chance to get all the way through the video to see if we can make any identifications or identify a potential suspect vehicle off that video footage yet,” said Sergeant Keith Ball of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

“My gut feeling initially when they started a couple of weeks ago was that this was probably younger people that are out looking to do something and not thinking all the way through. Other than that we have no specific profile or person in mind at this point,” Ball continued.

“Well, unfortunately, the way the world is now you expect anything,” Carello added.

“But it’s very discomforting to find that someone doesn’t have anything better to do in life but to shoot at a vehicle or a person.”

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has since upped patrols on West Henrietta Road and Lehigh Station Road, the targeted areas.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is urged to contact 911.
