This trucker and his wife were enjoying a pleasant ride until a clueless driver pulled out onto the road, squarely in front of his rig!
No one knows better than a trucker does, what it takes to slow down a big rig on the highway. But the driver of the pickup leaves absolutely no time for this trucker, Ralph Ireland, to even think about slowing down!
You can feel the fear when you hear the driver yell as the pickup literally rolls onto Highway 17, right in front of him!
In a split second, Ralph has to decide which part of the pickup to hit to avoid the worst injury to the driver, himself and his wife, Ifka. So he decides to hit the truck bed. A great call on his part since all walked away from this with little, if any, injury!
In a Facebook post, Ralph explained his thinking, “we kind of had the choice to hit the cab of his truck and kill him, and possibly us….hit the heavy duty tandem trailer and kill us or hit the box of his truck.”
You can hear the driver of the green pickup, Christopher Lord, admit fault for the accident immediately after the crash.
This video went viral and was used as evidence in charges filed against Christopher Lord. Lord was officially charged with distracted driving, after cops viewed the video.
