Two lanes of Interstate 5 were shut down on Monday morning after a trucker lost control of his rig while trying to avoid a car that cut him off.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. on I-5 north, over the Marquam Bridge, in Portland, Oregon.
The driver told reporters that the motorist “cut him off right in front of his bumper,” causing the trucker to suddenly hit his brakes. The driver then lost control of the rig and overturned.

No injuries were sustained in the wreck and the trucker is said to be walking along the highway as officials investigate the incident.
The driver was hauling hay and was on his way to Tacoma, Washington.

The Interstate 84 eastbound ramp, as well as the far right lanes of I-5 north at the Marquam bridge, have been closed as crews work to unload the hay from the trailer and clear the remaining debris.
As of 7:50 a.m. (PDT), the lanes were still closed.
Drivers are urged to use Interstate 405 north as a detour as cleanup is expected to take “all morning.”
