A man driving for llinois-based AAA Freight Incorporated accidentally entered the Northern Parkway in New York and died after suffering a tragic accident.
Truck driver Javier Tapia, 53, from Texas, was heading towards Oyster Bay, NY, on Sunday to deliver metal beams when he drove onto the Northern State Parkway, which restricts the passage of all large trucks and commercial vehicles due to low bridges.
As he approached a low overpass, Tapia stopped suddenly and completely avoided hitting it, but the impact from the sudden stop caused the metal beams on the flatbed to penetrate the cab, killing Tapia on the spot.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. near the Willets Road exit.
