A truck driver was killed after striking a pole of an overhead highway sign on Interstate 40 in Graham, North Carolina, on Tuesday.
The incident happened on I-40 eastbound, near the Graham exit.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the truck was traveling eastbound when the driver, for unknown reasons, veered to the right and struck a pole attached to an overhead highway sign.
The truck driver was killed at the scene. His name has not been released.
The truck was hauling sauces for Taco Bell.
The roadway was reduced to two lanes in order for crews to clear the scene, including a diesel fuel spill, but has since reopened.
The reason the truck veered off the roadway is still under investigation.
