A truck driver in Pennsylvania recently hopped a curb to avoid rear ending the car in front of him, and managed to do it all without spilling a drop of his coffee.
The incident was captured on the dual facing dash cam system installed in the Volpe Express company truck.
While the driver’s quick maneuver prevented a potential accident, it also served as a good warning to be more aware of one’s surroundings.
Volpe’s safety director Christopher Prince told Overdrive Magazine, “He was focused on the car that swoops in front of him” but “if he’d been watching more closely” he could have prevented the entire incident.
As far as the remarkable coffee balancing job? Prince said the driver “didn’t remember he’d had his coffee in his hand.”
“That’s why we have cup holders in the trucks” he added.
