Truck Driver Found Dead From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning At Arkansas Weigh Station

A 44-year-old truck driver from Etta, Missisissipp, was found dead earlier this week in an Arkansas weigh station. After an investigation, authorities have determined the cause of death to be accidentally carbon monoxide poisoning.

Arkansas Police found the driver, Wayne Azlin, unconscious in his rig after his father alerted police that his son was missing. Authorities say that the carbon monoxide poisoning was caused by a portable generator under his sleeper, that was running when they found him.

According to the consumer product safety commission, portable generators are the leading cause of carbon monoxide poisoning in engine-driven tools in the U.S. The gas is odorless, invisible, and difficult to detect.

The incident occurred at the eastbound weigh station on Interstate 30 near Hope, Arkansas.
