A tanker truck driver is lucky to have walked away with only minor injuries after a tire failed on the Kansas Turnpike.
The crash took place on July 30, 2025, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) – Troop B.
Troopers say that a tanker truck traveling on the Kansas Turnpike experienced a tire blowout, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The tanker truck went off the roadway and overturned in a ditch.
The truck driver only suffered minor injuries.
The tanker contained asphalt oil. A Hazmat team responded to the scene.
“As drivers, it is important to always be alert and buckle up- you never know what can go wrong,” KHP said.
