A truck driver is dead after two blown tires caused his tanker truck to crash and split in two.
It happened on Wednesday, September 27th in Indianapolis, Indiana at approximately 5:45 a.m.
According to Fox 59, the tanker truck was traveling on eastbound Interstate 70 near mile marker 95.2 when two tires on the truck blew out. The two blown tires caused the truck driver to lose control. The tanker truck then ran off the road and crashed into an overpass support column.
The force of the impact caused the tanker to split open, spilling oil across both sides of I-70.

The truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition but soon succumbed to his injuries.
The name of the driver has not been released.
Both sides of I-70 were shut down for over 3 hours while the Department of Environmental Management HAZMAT team worked to clean up the oil.
As of 11:15 a.m., one lane remains closed on each side of I-70 as crews continue to clean up the mess. Officials warn motorists to continue to use extra caution and avoid I-70 if possible during their evening commute, as the roads may still be more slippery than normal.
