If the headline sounds bizarre to you, well it should. Because this entire incident is rather bizarre.
A thief in New York stole a Grimaldi’s bread delivery truck and delivered it’s scheduled shipments of bread to several locations, while wearing just his underwear.
After boosting the truck on Monday afternoon, David Bastar, 30, followed written instructions to successfully drop off the loads to 3 stores and restaurants. Then he took the craziness to the next level.
He drove down Lexington Avenue while tossing out loaves of bread from the delivery truck. After tailgating a limo driver near the 59th street bridge, he was eventually stopped and arrested and was deemed mentally unstable.
He was taken to a psychiatric ward and later released to the custody of his parents.
A real truck driver for Grimaldi’s had this to say about this incident: “When I heard he actually made a few deliveries, I laughed out loud . . . I guess he really wants to be a truck driver!”
