Police are investigating a commercial vehicle vs. train crash that occurred in Hudson, South Dakota, on Monday.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to the crash at 9:20 a.m. on October 27.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found no injuries reported by either the truck driver or the train conductor.

“Preliminary information suggests that the semi pulling a fully loaded grain trailer was heading eastbound on Wheelock St and passed over a set of railroad tracks just east of 3rd St. and failed to yield to the northbound train. The locomotive struck the passenger side rear axle area of the grain trailer causing damage to the trailer and three of the locomotives,” LCSO said.

Moving forward, the investigation will be spearheaded by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
