A truck driver was discovered dead in his rig at a truck stop on Monday evening.
The man was found on August 27th at the Petro Truck Stop located at 970 I- 20 Frontage Rd North in Jackson, Mississippi at around 5:00 p.m.
According to police Sergeant Major Pete Luke, a deputy working at the truck stop was alerted to the incident by a concerned trucker, which led to the discovery of the 71-year-old unnamed man inside the cab of the rig, which officials say had possibly been sitting there for over two weeks.
The deceased driver’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, reported WLBT 3 News.
No information regarding the cause of death has been released, but police made no mention of the possibility of foul play.
