A doctored image using a Pilot Flying J logo, claiming that the company’s truck stops would start charging drivers to use the restroom, was posted on social media and heavily circulated in the online trucking community in recent days.
It sounds outrageous — and that’s because it’s completely fake.
The image, which can be seen in full below, says the company will begin charging drivers $4.95 to use the restroom.
Many drivers were (rightfully) outraged by the fake news, with some declaring that they’d never use a Pilot Flying J facility again.
We’ve reached out to Pilot Flying J, and this was their response:
This statement is absolutely false and was not issued or sanctioned by Pilot Flying J. Providing clean facilities and a welcoming environment for our guests is always one of our top priorities: we will never charge a fee to use our restrooms.
So rest assured — dropping a “number 2” at a Pilot Flying J still won’t cost you a thing.
