The Indiana State Police (ISP) said drivers should slow down and drive to conditions after a trooper’s cruiser was struck by two semi trucks while assisting a family.
According to a January 25 statement from John Perrine of ISP’s Indianapolis District, a trooper was assisting a family stuck in the snow along I-70 when the crashes occurred.

“One semi, going too fast for the conditions, sideswiped the trooper’s car, then another semi came along, again too fast, and hit the trooper’s car,” Perrine said.

No injuries were reported, but Perrine noted that “If he wasn’t there the semis would have hit the family.”
Troopers are asking drivers to slow down for safety.
