Although not quite “trucking” related, this is pretty awesome.
A recent surveillance video shows a mattress flying off a pickup truck and leading to what might be the “safest” accident ever filmed. It was posted online by police in Queensland, Australia.
In the clip, a motorcyclist is seen driving behind the pickup as the improperly secured mattress rolls of its utility trailer. Without enough time to react, the motorcyclist drives directly into the mattress as it hits the roadway.
It’s a large enough object to lead to a serious crash and knock the biker off balance — but the same object that caused the accident, also saved the day, as the bike comes to a perfect stop after getting tangled in the mattress.
