An accident involving multiple vehicles — including a semi truck — took place in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, this week.
Just before midnight on December 23, the Rocky Hill Fire Department responded to a to a car versus tractor trailer accident with a vehicle on fire on southbound I-91 at the Exit 23 on-ramp.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a “multi-car accident with debris spread over three lanes of traffic with a light pole down.”
Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported.
According to the Rocky Hill Fire Department CT, “One car involved had the engine, front end, and hood separate from the vehicle, with the engine landing in the center median on the highway. One tractor trailer truck sustained heavy damage and a second tractor trailer truck had a damaged air line from running over debris on the road. A second car sustained three flat tires.”
Connecticut State Police later arrested Christopher Oblon, 29, for DUI and failure to drive in proper lane charges after he reportedly collided with a tractor trailer on southbound I-91 at Exit 23, CT Insider reports.
