A New York trucker caught a disturbing incident on his dash cam on Wednesday, April 1st while driving on the I-35E in Waxahachie, Texas.
An SUV, driven by 49-year-old Laura Michelle Mayeaux, deliberately pulled in front of a semi truck, causing a three vehicle accident. According to police, Mayeaux was intoxicated and tried to commit suicide by hitting the semi truck head-on.
Jack Rivera, the truck driver who managed to catch the incident on his dash cam, told Waxahachietx reporters:
“Honestly, I am still a little disturbed by it. When I am done for the day I have been watching the video quite a bit. Wondering why anyone would do something like that. I just didn’t know what to think. Sometimes I do replay it in my mind,”
The impact caused the semi truck to hit another vehicle and spill it’s load across two lanes of the highway Rivera stopped his rig after witnessing the crash in order to help.
Mayeaux was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. The others two drivers, including the truck driver, were treated for minor injuries.
Riveria told reporters that he posted the video to Youtube in an attempt to warn other trucker’s that anything can happen on the road.
