The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit (ISP) wants to remind truckers about the importance of load securement after a recent encounter with a heavy equipment haul.
On January 27, ISP took to social media to call out a truck driver who was recently spotted hauling equipment without any apparent chain or strap in sight.
“Don’t forget your load securement! We can all agree we would prefer your equipment and cargo to stay on your trailer and not end up on the side of the road!” troopers said.
Several Facebook users took advantage of the moment to crack a joke about the load securement issue. See what they had to say:
“Those are the new “bluetooth” binders. All our local farmers use them all the time.”
“It’s a decoy. Unsecured load ticket is much Less than the off rd diesel fuel ticket that they didn’t catch.”
“Man you guys need to get to 2025. They got Bluetooth chains now.”
“Looks good from my house!”
