In Fort Worth, Texas, police are investigating an incident that ended with a fatality.
According to police, a trucker’s big rig was stolen from a business near 1-35 West and Risinger Road.
According to WFAA, on Tuesday morning, the incident began when the big rig owner decided to pursue his stolen semi truck. He chased down the truck thief while driving a pickup truck.
The truck’s owner ran the thief off the road on I-35, causing the truck to become stuck in a ditch. The suspected thief then got out of his vehicle and attempted to cross the I-35 West service road.
That’s when the man was run over by the pickup truck driven by the big rig’s owner.
The victim’s body was found by police around 4 a.m. in the 10100 block of South Freeway.
The owner of the semi truck told authorities that he was chasing the suspected thief in his pickup truck.
Charges have not yet been filed. It is unclear whether the truck driver struck the thief intentionally.
