Big rig hauling flammable liquid goes up in FLAMES on Pennsylvania interstate

Firefighters responded to a serious commercial vehicle fire in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday night.

Around 6:30 p.m. on February 11, 2025, the Silver Spring Community Fire Co. responded to I-81 at the 581 interchange near Hampden Township, Pennsylvania, for a reported vehicle fire.

When they arrived on scene, crews discovered a tractor trailer hauling flammable liquids engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

Images shared by Silver Spring Community Fire Co. show heavy fire damage to the truck.

I-81 has reopened.
