This 1940’s Trucking Training Video Might Still Teach You a Thing or Two

Over the years, the trucking industry has transformed tremendously; we have all witnessed new innovations and technology. But some things never go out of style, like the ideas behind this video.

Today so many people think that the 1940’s was a caveman era and that life was slower and more relaxed in comparison to the present.

Watch the video and you will see that many of our so called ‘modern principals’ came from those roots.

Sure our trucks are better and many think that society has progressed greatly, but has it? Have people really changed that much, or were they always foolish, running stop signs and red lights to beat from having to stop. The video makes a couple of points that need to be noted however: one is never depend on the right of way, it will get you into trouble, and two is that pedestrians always have the right of way even when they are jay walking.

If you took away one thing from the video, what would it be? What stood out for me — “Every crossing is a bear-trap, believe me.” Heh.
